স্বাধীনতা স্বাধীনতা !! খায় না পড়ে!
নাকি ফেস্টুনেতে ভরে !
আজব দেশে পথের ছেলে
ভেবেই শুধু মরে।
এইতো সেদিন ময়নার মা
কাজের ফাঁকে বাবু–
গা গতরে পুষিয়ে দিব
ভাত জোটেনি তবু।!
রাম রতনের মেয়ে সেদিন
উবে গেল রাতে!
খোঁজ মেলেনি আজও কেন
প্রশাসনের হাতে।
স্বাধীন শুধু ফেস্টুন আর
রাতের জলসা গানে
হাজার প্রতিশ্রুতি ঝরে
বেজায় বাজে কানে।
স্বাধীন শুধু অক্ষরে ভাই
ভিখারীর ফুটো থালায়,
চা দোকানে কাপডিস ধুয়ে
ছোট্ট শিবুর গলায়।
পতাকা উড়ে আকাশ পানে
ফিসফিসিয়ে বলে-
একটা সুভাষ আনতে পারিস!
এই ধরার তলে।
মিলিয়ে যাবে প্রতিশ্রুতি
হাসবে সকল প্রাণ
সবাই আবার উঠবে গেয়ে
বেঁচে থাকার গান।
